ITEM DESCRIPTION & CONDITION CHECKLIST
For sale
Describe the object, maker, edition and condition honestly. Copy any number exactly, including leading zeros, and say whether it belongs to the object, certificate or packaging. Use your own clear photographs; disclose damage, restoration, missing parts and uncertainty. State price, currency, location, delivery costs and proposed terms clearly.
Wanted
Explain what you are looking for, acceptable condition, number or edition preferences, and budget if appropriate. An ordinary collection is welcome; a special number is optional.
Swap / trade
Describe both sides clearly and agree any cash difference, delivery and proposed return arrangements before committing. Never claim that a moderator will hold money or goods.

Look beyond an asking price. Check the item’s condition, completeness and evidence, and compare completed sales before making a decision.
Asking versus sold prices
Compare completed sales of genuinely comparable items, including condition and completeness. Asking prices are not evidence of a sale, and no number guarantees a premium.
Check the evidence
Distinguish maker marks, edition numbers, certificate numbers and later inscriptions. Certificates and photographs may be misleading or incomplete; verify claims with the maker or a suitable independent specialist where possible.
Future authentication
An optional independent assessment/referral service is only a future plan. No approved provider, guarantee, commission arrangement, payment protection or authentication service is live.
